Dear CSS members,
In order to promote exchanges between the various research teams within our society and to showcase our student members, we are launching a new project of monthly seminars. These seminars would take place virtually and last for approximately 1 hour during which two students and/or postdoctoral fellows would have the opportunity to present their research projects and recent developments in their laboratories (30-minute presentations each, plus additional time allocated for questions). As for the schedule, we are thinking of 9:00 AM PT (12:00 PM ET), every 2nd Monday of the month, to accommodate the majority of participants. A detailed schedule will be provided once presenters are selected. Presentations would be given on a voluntary basis, and attendance would be entirely free. Please note that researchers are also welcome to attend the presentations.
In an ideal scenario, we would like to start these seminars in January 2024. We invite you to submit your application as soon as possible by completing a short survey.
To complete the survey, click here.
Candidates will be selected based on demand, but we aim to have both a clinical and a fundamental presentation in each seminar. A more detailed schedule will be communicated as soon as possible based on the applications.
We would like to remind students that this is a golden opportunity to enhance your CV and make yourself known within the CSS. We also hope that these exchanges will encourage collaborations and help students discover potential laboratories for their future careers.
We hope that this new project will be met with enthusiasm and look forward to receiving your applications! Please feel free to send us your suggestions and/or questions via email at jrstudent@css-scs.ca.
